Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance
The Specialist, Academic Operations enables and supports the evolving vision of Walden's continuing and professional education offerings. This position is a critical operational resource responsible for scaling product offering while creating a positive student experience. This position will play a critical role in reviewing student communication, processing student requests and helping to make the operational model more efficient as the platform evolves. The right candidate must be driven to identify and make improvements in specific operational areas in a way that improves the overall student experience. The position will be a part of a small core team of operational innovators working to successfully scale the new learning model.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with a small and nimble team to create learning model and obtain business efficiency.
- Learn and master the use of operational and learning management systems to streamline and automate operational processes while still delivering a positive student experience.
- Review student communication and process various student requests and operational tasks including but not limited to inquiries, refunds, and appeals.
- Collect and present key improvement opportunities to leadership to attain support.
- Proactively mitigate issues through root cause analysis and continuously improve learning operations.
- Provide continual feedback and identify improvement opportunities to support successful iterations of the business model and student experience.
- Partner with product management team to support business development activities, provide relevant information to the BD team and manage project launch timeline.
- Work with leadership, cross-functional operations teams, and student-facing resources at all levels of the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required and Master's Degree Preferred
- 3 years experience in objectively evaluating current processes for opportunities to optimize interdepartmental communication, collaboration, and end-to-end process performance. Required
- 3 years experience working in a global environment with diverse functional and project teams is required. Required
- 1 year experience in higher education. Preferred
- Must possess strong analytical skills, have a strong desire to understand the big picture of how non degree works but also be conscientious and detail-oriented.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, constant changing environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Previous customer service experience a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $42,661.58 and $75,065.24. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
