| This position may be eligible for Hybrid Work, working remotely for up to two days per week after the initial 90 days of employment. Description: Job Summary The Accountant II prepares and processes financial documents and reporting. Compares and reconciles monthly transactions and other financial activities, researches and responds to inquiries. The Accountant II performs complex accounting functions.Duties Compiles, analyzes, researches, reconciles and reports on ledger activities for assigned areas Researches and responds to inquiries and provides information to aide with problem resolution Researches and approves/creates regular and correcting journal entries, vouchers for the department and deposits Approves/researches/prepares monthly and year-end functions Generates regularly scheduled reports/financials and submits as required to UHS/BOR, state or federal agencies Performs research and analyzes data for annual reports including preparation of all schedules Participates in problem solving, trouble shooting, and testing the Finance, Student, and other appropriate systems, responsible for departmental website Reconciles student accounting system to finance system including annual set-up, coordinate with IT, budget, Student Business Services to resolve issues Serves as audit liaison with Internal and External Auditors and coordinating with departments to ensure audit deadlines are met Performs complex financial tasks related to specific departmentMarginal Duties Performs all other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities Direct Reports: NoneDelegation of Work: N/ASupervision Given: N/AKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the university as they pertain to the accounting functionSkills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in using computer software, particularly MS Word and Excel, PeopleSoft, and BannerAbilities: Ability to meet deadlines Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Ability to use university applications systems and automated systemsWork Location and Physical Demands Primary Work Location: Works in an office environmentPhysical Demands: Work is performed in a typical, comfortable interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risksQualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related fieldRequired Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of related job experienceLicense/Certification: None requiredPreferred Qualifications None
