Accounting Technician, Senior Full Description

Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Accounting Technician, Senior (36867) in the Bursar Department. The pay for this position is $18.00/hr. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provides oversight for Student Organizations to assure that appropriate fiscal controls are in place and that account management occurs in a timely, appropriate manner.  
  • Ensure a high level of support for student activities conducted by recognized organizations, and monitor University policies for impact on student activities from a fiscal approval perspective.
  • Reconciliation of ecommerce and ACH transactions for reconciliation as needed. 
  • Support Financial Aid office with federal work study program by entering student payroll into student information system.
  • Back-up support to front office clerks when needed.
  • Analyze account balances and respond to inquiries.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. 
  • 3 years of customer service experience with experience in cashiering, cash handling/collection, and reconciliation required. 
  • Skills in general PC applications-word processing and spreadsheet use/creation.
  • Knowledge of University or ERP systems, helpful. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize workflow.
