OUR MARKET POSITION

Great Minds’ Eureka Math is the most widely used curriculum in the history of American education. It enjoys an unrivaled 40+ net promoter score. Eureka and its sister products, Wit & Wisdom English and PhD Science, embrace much higher expectations for all students and all teachers. In a market dominated by scripted, procedural materials that drive expectations down, Great Minds produces curricula that celebrate knowledge, respect the craft of teaching, and acknowledge the true capabilities of students.

Job Purpose

The Associate Creative Director leads a team of designers and collaborates with senior math leadership to establish the vision for new product initiatives. While learning about the objectives of a project, they explore: “Why is this product being created? Why will it be different from other products out there?” They define the value-add of integrated visual design for a product. They lead the design prototyping process and support all facets of implementation and maintenance of a product’s design.
A designer for Great Minds products should have an interest in design for children or teachers, and their portfolio should demonstrate an understanding or empathy for one of these user groups.

  • Determine the look and feel of new products as part of the existing Great Minds product line
  • Oversee the work of independent illustrators, photographers, writers, and designers

  • Define the student and teacher experience with the program components.
  • Ensure that all designers are aware of the look and feel of all Great Minds Math products, as well as have familiarity with science and humanities products.
  • Look for opportunities to integrate ideas from one product into another (using art for more than one component, ensuring type styles and conventions build on each other).
  • Have a strong understanding of the existing products and their content (or be interested to learn).
  • Lead reviews of designs with senior leadership, gathering feedback and distilling it for the design team.
  • Evaluate and assign projects to team members according to their skillset and bandwidth
  • Establish team goals, meeting structures, and team accountability processes
