Business Assistant, Lead Full Description

Job Summary
Provide high-level account management support for faculty in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering including sponsored programs from a variety of federal and non-federal sponsors and University funding. Responsible for leading daily operations with a direct impact on effective account management. Serve as a team lead within the Business Office, providing training and support to other staff members and working collaboratively as a team to achieve maximum performance in account management.  Act as a liaison for both the department and central offices, especially Sponsored Program Services.  Position will interpret, communicate, and implement University financial management guidelines, policies, and procedures as well as require advanced knowledge of federal and non-federal guidelines. Exercise department head and departmental fiscal signature delegation by approving purchase orders and travel. 

Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate’s location and interest.

What We're Looking For:
Required:
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant business and/or financial related experience
  • Business or financial related degree will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information and implement solutions 
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion 
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment 
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
