Business Manager, CIT & CGT Full Description

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Financial Affairs, this position will provide effective and efficient financial management and business services to Computer and Information Technology and Computer Graphics Technology within the Polytechnic Institute. Collaborate with unit heads, college Director of Financial Affairs and business office colleagues to design, implement and manage current processes and new initiatives. Ensure the ongoing financial health of units while assisting department heads with the alignment of resources to carry out departmental, college and university strategic priorities. Provide proper interpretation of University, Federal and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.  Authorize and approve business activities and financial transactions. Maintain fiscal and administrative controls to ensure all funds are expended in accordance with University and sponsor policies and procedures.
 
Position Scope:
This position will provide financial oversight and support for: 
  • 58+ Faculty Members
  • 20+ Professional Staff 
  • 9+ Lecturers/LTL/Visiting Faculty 
  • 7+ Admin/Clerical/Service Staff 
 
Annual Financial Responsibility:
  • General Funds: 12.8 million+
  • Sponsored Programs: $4.7 million+
  • Gifts & Scholarships: $0.15 million+

What We're Looking For:
Required:
  • BA/BS degree 
  • Six hours of accounting education
  • Minimum of 1 year of Business Administration or Financial Management experience 
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management and customer service skills
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
  • Personal computer and related software skills
  • Strong quantitative skills with ability to synthesize complex information and produce quality management reports

Preferred:
  • Coursework in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field
  • Previous leadership and supervisory experience
