About the Opportunity
The Colleague ERP Business Analyst’s key functions are to consult with end users; understand and optimize business processes; and assist users in becoming more efficient and effective to drive student success. Responsibilities includes working with various departments to understand their business processes and streamline them by leveraging enterprise-level administrative systems. Typical activities include troubleshooting departmental issues using Colleague or other administrative systems, training end users on various software packages, mapping & documenting processes, or helping define new projects. Project work ranges from implementing new software, expanding the functionality of existing software, building new forms/sites, or designing the integration of new systems. As the University is an Ellucian Colleague client, much of the key work is in, near, or integrating with Ellucian Colleague. While pre-knowledge of Colleague is not required, the successful candidate will be able to learn and understand this ERP system quickly.

This position requires to be onsite at University of St. Francis (Fort Wayne, IN.) Relocation assistance is available. This position reports to the Director of Application Services.

Where you will make an impact
  • Consult with end users and supervisors to understand and optimize business processes.
  • Work with various departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot issues, train end users, and define new projects.
  • Implement new software, expand existing functionality, and design system integrations.
  • Develop functional design specifications and gather program requirements.
  • Prepare design specifications for conversions, reporting, interfaces, and customizations.
  • Coordinate with clients to develop requirements and provide project leadership.
  • Maintain software programs and update ticket tracking systems.
  • Provide functional and technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs, processes, and reporting.
  • Provide project leadership for functional work groups enabling them to stay on time and on task.
  • Provide guidance in the formulation and coordination of an end-user training strategy, and when appropriate, develop and deliver such training.
  • Provide direction in developing testing methodology for utilization during upgrades and patch application; confirm programming meets specifications, obtain client signoff of efforts.
  • Provide functional/technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs. 

What You Will Bring
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a meeting, using strong interpersonal skills and informal power.
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague ERP.
  • Academic Business Processes (finance, HR/payroll, registrar/student, advancement, etc.)
  • SQL programming.
  • Reporting & Dashboards (Argos, Ellucian Insights, or PowerBI.)
  • Microsoft SharePoint administration.
  • User Interface Design – specifically for forms or surveys.
  • Experience in business process reviews, application prototyping, and best practice methodologies.
  • Ability to provide functional and technical assistance and respond to user needs with grace and patience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive attitude, growth mindset, and self-starter mentality.
  • Exceptional business process analysis, project leadership, and improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian ETHOS model or Ellucian Operational Data Store (ODS.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Experience Evisions FormFusion.
  • Experience with Colleague Workflow and Colleague Document Management.
  • Preferred knowledge of Ellucian Ethos Extensibility, Ethos Platform Integration, and UC4/Automic/Automate or any job scheduler software.
