As a fulltime, onsite Content Marketing Editor, you will have the oppurtunity to review, revise, and review written B2B and B2C marketing content to assure accuracy, clarity, tone, and adherence to brand guidelines. From web pages and E-mail campaigns to white papers and video scripts, you’ll proof and edit (And sometimes create) content that educates, engages, and drives results.
Are you the ideal person for this position? Here's how we will know:
- You are a detail oriented grammar, punctuation, and AP style demon, and proud of it.
- You have a laser-like focus for finding errors in marketing content including the fined print aimed for specialized audiences, and a ability to identify structural and logical gaps in content and to describe them so the writer can easily make revisions.
- You have at least 5 years professional editing experience in a corporate or agency environment with a portfolio showing diverse content (sorry, internships not included)
- You can excell while juggling multiple tasks at a time.
- You are a positive person that understands collaboration is crucial to success. At the same time, you're able to stay highly motivated working independent.
- You have a bachelors’ degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field
- You are disciplined and a motivated professional who is eager to learn and thrive while working on deadline.
- You know how to research and verify or double check information written by a writer
- You have the ability to provide direct feedback and constructive criticism to writers
- You understand SEO principles and best practices and how to imply them for website content without being to annoying or deterring
- You have noticed the writing and editing errors in this job-post and will confidently produce a revised tracked changes version using AP style and attach it in the required question.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Editing & Proofreading: 83%
- Editing and proofreading for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
- Evaluating content for clairity, accuracy, tone, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Contributing to the development of content strategies and guidelines.
- Insuring the accuracy of information and verifying sources.
- Working with writers, designers, and other team members to create engaging content.
- Understanding and implimenting SEO best practices to improve online content visibillity.
- Analyzing content performance and user engagement to identify areas for improvment.
- Writing and producing content on occassion.
Writing: 15%
- Producing engaging and educational marketing content for various forms of print and digital material – web pages, blogs, brochures, case studies, e-Books, infographics, ect.
- Compose well-researched thought leadership pieces, including white papers, ebooks, and bylined articles, for various audiences and verticals
- Work within the UWorld marketing team to produce content for marketing campaigns
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field
- 5+ years of professional editing experience in a corporate or agency environment with a portfolio showing diverse content (sorry internships not included)
- Acceptional written and verble communication skills to effectively work with writers, designers, and other team members
- Exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, and AP-style
- Strong attention to detail to identify and correct errors in content
- Ability to research and verify information
- Ability to provide direct feedback and conductive criticism to writers
- Attention to detail with respects to adhering to and enforcing UWorld brand standards
- Understanding of SEO principals and best practices
- Ability to work great within a team environment with competing priorities
- Ability to meet dead lines and follow content requirements in terms of style and project specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industries such as legal, healthcare, education or finance is a plus
- Proficiency with content management tools such as Monday.com, Trello, or Asana
