Curriculum Development Specialist Full Description

Job Summary
The Curriculum Development Specialist will be responsible for assisting faculty and researchers to develop, revise, update, and disseminate undergraduate and graduate curricular materials as part of the Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement (SCALE) program.  SCALE is the leading U.S. program for semiconductor workforce development in the defense sector.  Funded by the Department of Defense, SCALE is led by Purdue University and managed by NSWC Crane.  This position will aid in needs assessments of technical vertical programs and introductory undergraduate courses for internal and external stakeholders.  The Curriculum Development Specialist will contribute to the effort to map existing and new courses to the relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities students need to be successful contributors in the microelectronic defense industry.  The position will develop templates for curricular materials, and coordinate with SCALE K-12 curriculum efforts.  Additionally, the position will provide recommendations to improve the learning management system to create effective and engaging learning experiences.  This position will also assist in the details of delivering workshops for faculty to support the implementation of SCALE curriculum.  A strong background in learning management systems, instructional design and technology, and curriculum development are required.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Two-three years of experience designing, developing, or teaching curriculum; managing learning management systems; project management
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communications, organizational, problem-solving, and technology skills (including expertise in MS Office and Learning Management Systems).
  • Ability to support curriculum quality and promote widespread use
  • Proficiency in writing effective copy, instructional text, and other supporting learning materials
  • Ability to engage actively with a diverse team, including faculty, staff, and Department of Defense sponsors and employers both within the Purdue region and across the United States
