THE ROLE
The Data Systems Analyst reports to the Director of Operations and Finance and plays a crucial role in building and maintaining our data solutions. In this position, you'll create and manage data collection tools, develop reports, and provide insights that drive decision-making across our organization and client projects. You'll work closely with our project teams to understand their needs and develop practical, user-friendly solutions that make data more accessible and actionable.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys combining technical skills with creative problem-solving to build practical solutions. Whether it's crafting a sophisticated Google Sheets template, designing an Airtable base, or creating interactive dashboards, you'll help our team and clients better understand and use their data.

This position can be based from a home office anywhere in the U.S., with 10-20% travel expected for project work, team retreats, and other events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Systems and Reporting (50-60%)
  • Design and implement data collection tools using platforms like Google Sheets, Airtable, and similar solutions
  • Create and maintain dashboards using Google Looker Studio and other visualization tools
  • Develop automated reporting solutions that save time and reduce manual work
  • Document processes and create user guides for data tools
  • Provide technical support and training to team members using our data systems
  • Maintain and build on SchoolKit’s CRM
Client Project Support (30-40%)
  • Work with project teams to understand and meet client data needs
  • Build data collection templates and reporting tools for client projects
  • Create clear, actionable reports that help clients understand their data
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients while delivering data solutions
  • Support project teams in data collection and analysis
Team Collaboration (10%)
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining our data processes
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or similar role
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards using tools like Google Looker Studio
  • Familiarity with data collection and management tools (e.g., Airtable)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Basic SQL knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience with Google Apps Script (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Monday project management software (preferred)
  • Background in K-12 education or educational nonprofit work (preferred)

COMPENSATION
The starting salary for this position will be between $85,000 - $95,000 and is highly dependent on experience.
