In our U.S. locations, we operate on a hybrid work model with three in-office days and two remote days per week. Starting Q1 2025, we will transition to a four-day in-office schedule, Monday–Thursday. Job Description
The Director, Accreditation and Professional Regulation, is responsible for coordinating institutional and programmatic accreditation efforts for Chamberlain University, including CCNE, HLC, CSWE, CEPH, state boards of nursing, and state higher education boards. This role provides essential knowledge and support to Chamberlain constituencies, ensuring that all programs and campuses operate within applicable guidelines. The Director plays a pivotal leadership role in regulatory and compliance issues, collaborating closely with Adtalem's Educational Authorization, Regulatory Affairs, and General Counsel to meet the University's licensing, compliance, and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Coordination:
    • Lead and direct the approval processes from accrediting and regulatory bodies for new programs and campuses.
    • Oversee the development and submission of self-study reports for accreditors/regulators and manage self-study site visits for program/location reviews.
  • Collaboration and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with Chamberlain University Academic and Operations leaders to ensure programs comply with accreditation criteria and regulatory standards.
    • Support advocacy efforts for new innovations by evaluating the regulatory/accreditation impact of proposed innovations for current and new programs.
  • Research and Monitoring:
    • Research and maintain data on certification, accreditation, and licensure requirements for all programs and campuses.
    • Provide ongoing monitoring of rules and regulations related to accreditation and regulatory requirements, developing appropriate agency relationships in coordination with Adtalem’s Educational Authorization and Regulatory Affairs departments.
  • Legislative Tracking and Communication:
    • Track legislative developments related to accreditation and licensing of Chamberlain University programs/locations and communicate updates to relevant individuals.
  • Catalog Management:
    • Ensure the accuracy of Chamberlain University catalog content and coordinate with the marketing department for appropriate distribution via internet and print.
  • Liaison and Assessment:
    • Serve as the primary liaison with state boards of nursing during the initial application process.
    • Participate in assessment activities that support accreditation processes.
  • Committee Participation and Curriculum Development:
    • Serve as an ex-officio member of Chamberlain University committees to provide input on state, federal, and professional organization requirements and standards.
    • Participate in curriculum development projects to ensure compliance with state and professional organization requirements.
  • Orientation and Support:
    • Assume responsibility for faculty and staff orientation to and support of accreditation processes and requirements.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Complete other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements:
    • Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of seven years in leadership roles within nursing education and accreditation.
    • At least ten years of experience as a faculty member in higher education.
    • Proven track record in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong organizational, research, analytical, and critical thinking skills for data gathering, information compilation, report preparation, and proposing innovative solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a team to achieve annual goals.
    • In-depth knowledge of program accreditation criteria and regulatory standards.
    • Proficiency in computer databases, spreadsheets, and statistical applications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work within a matrix organization in a fast-paced environment.
    • Expertise in planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing educational programs.
    • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,171.61 and $175,761.85. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
