About the Opportunity
We are seeking to hire a Director, Application Services to work onsite at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. The main role is to manage the Enterprise Applications team, consult with end users, understand and optimize business processes and to assist them in becoming more efficient and effective utilizing Ellucian Banner ERP system. You will be responsible for driving student success, provide ERP technical support and will be responsible for all facets of data and reporting support for the institution. This position will report to the CIO at Otterbein University.

Where you will make an impact
  • Work with university stakeholders and users in various administrative departments to assess, train, manage expectations and complete ERP projects and implementations.
  • Provide leadership, direction and oversight for the analysis, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the university’s enterprise level administrative systems, including but not limited to Banner as well as numerous integrated 3rd-party software solutions.
  • Plan and design the ERP and enterprise application capabilities to meet desired organizational objectives. 
  • Designing or writing specifications based on consultations system analysts, programmers, and end users.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of remote programming and reporting resources.
  • Provide ERP and enterprise Application Management and Support.
  • The application and server support includes coordination of the management of Banner production and test environments, the accommodation of special requests by the Banner functional owners to implement new functionality and to test patches, upgrades and releases in a timely manner.
  • Resolve problems and comply with continuously changing federal and state reporting or compliance requirements.
  • Analyzing and documenting functional and/or system requirements and changes.
  • Creating project plans and managing projects confirming that timelines are met. 
  • Coordinate and manage this ERP support with appropriate depth of expertise to maintain a high level of support for the Ellucian services to the University.
  • Possessing ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, develops process flows and procedure manuals.
  • Additionally, possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer and the general public.
  • Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
  • Training end users or technical support staff to use and support programs.
  • Assisting with the modification and maintenance of the Banner product.
  • Mentoring less experienced analysts.
  • Preparing and submitting status reports as requested by manager and unit.
  • Knowledge of SaaS implementation methodologies.

What you will bring
  • At least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including three years in area(s) of higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing, maintaining and supporting Ellucian Products and systems for Higher Education (college/university) clients; and gaining and keeping client trust.
  • Experience working with a broad range of higher education administrators including vice presidents, deans, directors, faculty, and students.
  • Project planning and execution experience required.
  • Knowledge of higher education core business processes are required.
  • High degree of creativity with a “can-do” attitude; display high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to set and change priorities amongst multiple competing constituencies, projects and resources.
  • Strong team building and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
