Our People Experience (PX) team leads PowerSchool’s human-resources function, equipping and encouraging PowerSchoolers to reach their potential while driving business results. The PX team manages the organization’s global workforce infrastructure; supports the overall employee experience; and attracts, develops, and retains talent. 
 
Responsibilities: 
Description
The Director, Employee Engagement & Communications is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of all employee communications and engagement programs with an aim to build an internal understanding of PowerSchool’s business strategy, purpose, culture and values. The Director will drive culture and employee engagement through global communications and events and manage complex projects with consistent storytelling to driving engagement and retention.  This seasoned leader will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and will use various communication channels to shape company culture in alignment with PowerSchool's strategy, mission, and goals.   
 
Strategic Employee Communications: 
  • Partner with and advise CEO and Senior Executives to understand organizational goals and develop strategic communication strategies, messaging, and collateral (written and visual) to support key business objectives, long-term goals, special projects and company updates. 
  • Partner with Marketing, Chief of Staff, and other program leaders to ensure consistency with internal and external communication strategy and messaging.  
  • Drive messaging through a variety of channels including our intranet, videos, town hall meetings, newsletters, social channels, blogs, and other internal outlets. 
Employee Engagement Strategy: 
  • Develop a holistic employee engagement strategy that will enhance workplace culture and employee engagement. 
  • Own the development and execution of our employee listening strategy, making recommendations based on results and following through on resulting commitments. 
  • Collaborate with PX and other departments to design and execute initiatives and engagement groups that promote culture, employee recognition, and sense of community. 
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and team leaders on best practices for employee engagement and retention. 
  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in employee engagement and incorporate them into the company's strategies. 
Employee Engagement & Communications Leadership: 
  • Lead, manage and develop the Employee Engagement and Communications team, efficiently balancing strategy and execution, prioritizing projects, and contributing to the work.  
  • Drive transformation of the Employee Engagement and Communications team by establishing best practices, conducting gap analysis of existing processes, identifying needed changes, and documenting approved Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Lead communications efforts for the People Experience team. 

Qualifications: 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or communications, or related years of experience
  • 10+ years of experience working in Marketing, internal communications, public relations, organizational development or related field.  
  • Extensive experience partnering and advising with C-Suite level 
  • Proven track record developing and executing comprehensive employee communications and engagement strategies that increase engagement and retention. 
  • Creative writing and storytelling skills that capture the voice of the executives while driving consistent messaging 
  • Experience with a range of communications channels (e.g., intranet, email, video/webinar, in-office events social media and tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) 
  • A flexible, self-starter with excellent organizational skills, who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, is able to deliver against tight deadlines, and can adapt to changing/unanticipated needs. 
  • Experience managing teams

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $146,200 - $214,000 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
