Your impact on the team
We are seeking an experienced Product Technologist with an Engineering Background to lead the design and architecture of new Platforms that integrate with the higher education ed-tech ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of 1Edtech standards (including LTIA) and digital content acquisition and distribution. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product and technical requirements, identify system interdependencies, and guide the engineering teams in building a scalable and efficient solution.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What You will be doing:
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the Higher Ed space to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Engage with external partners and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and foster strong collaborative relationships.
  • Partner with product management, design and engineering teams to translate strategic plans into actionable development roadmaps.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
  • Ensure Compliance & Security Standards for handling sensitive student and institutional data.
  • Evaluate Third-Party Tools and middleware solutions to optimize integrations.
  • Identify Interdependencies and ensure seamless data flow between multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams to translate product vision into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

We’re looking for someone with:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or product technology roles.
  • Recent experience building customer facing products
  • Strong understanding of higher education content acquisition and delivery (including SIS, LMS, distributors, and publishers).
  • Experience designing APIs, middleware, and data synchronization between disparate systems.
  • Expertise in cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern development frameworks.
  • Understanding of data privacy laws (FERPA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Solid understanding of ERP/SIS systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

The pay range for this position is between $155,000 - $220,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
