SUMMARY: The Director, School Counseling and Career Coaching collaborates with national, regional and school level teams in leading the development, implementation, and execution of operational, tactical and strategic plans designed to achieve K12’s mission, vision and framework for student support services, post-secondary readiness, and job placement through guidance, counseling and coaching programs.

- Develop, refine, improve and execute on the K12 coaching and counseling job readiness and job placement strategy aligned to K12’s vision for graduate and alumni career outcomes.
- Develop, refine, and improve national virtual school counseling, advisory, and homeroom models. National school counseling, including:
- Course offerings & placement approach
- Postsecondary planning & outcome tracking
- Graduation Planning
- Lead organizational expansion efforts & serve as national expert on college & career planning and readiness including:
- Dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities
- Career awareness and exploration
- 3E planning and intentions
- Career Readiness Education (CRE)
- CRE pathways
- Certifications
- Career Training
- Oversee counseling, advisor, coaching and student support program best practices and initiatives such as:
- Graduation Guarantee
- National newsletter
- National Professional Learning Communities
- Counselor and Career Coaching training and PD
- Serve as the owner of school counseling and career coaching tools and platforms such as Naviance, Hiration AI Coaching Tool, and relevant components of PowerSchool:
- Facilitate training and coordinate support for school level counselors in the areas of guidance, learning coach support, Career and Readiness Education (CRE), job readiness and placement, and dual enrollment;
- Work with cross-functional colleagues at K12 and with schools to design, implement, enhance and track effectiveness of engagement strategies and tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will supervise three K12 career coaches, with the potential for additional direct reports.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, career coaching or related field
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience in program and/or project management, and/or educational leadership, and/or counseling & coaching, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and knowledge of counseling and/or coaching and student support programs
- Strong data and analytics skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high visibility and deadline driven environment
- Self- starter with strong team & client success orientation
- Outstanding communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
- Independent problem solver
- Excellent Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and Web application skills
- Outstanding time management and organization skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Certification in school guidance counseling and/or career coaching is preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be $92,993.00 to $116,241.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
