Grant and Special Projects Administrator - Office of the Dean for Science Full Description

Position Summary:

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Grants and Special Projects Administrator to join the Office of the Dean for Science. This individual will administer sponsored research grants, contracts, gifts, and faculty 'start-up' funds; advise Principle Investigators on grant funds management and budget planning, interpret terms of grant contracts, analyze and revise budgets, and prepare grant reporting. Utilize available internal and external data sources to conduct research and analysis on projects to support the Dean for Science. Consult with the Dean to determine the impact and feasibility of report findings and recommendations. Manage the administrative operations for the Office of the Dean for Science; plan and implement events and activities; supervise office operations and staff. Coordinate divisional outreach activities and manage social media campaigns.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:

Master's degree

Required Experience:

3 years' relevant experience in academic administration with experience in data collection and reporting, pre- and post-award grants management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience in an academic or research environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented. Ability to multi-task and work under multiple deadlines. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and ad-hoc reporting tools.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Experience with financial data systems.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $74,520.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
