About the Opportunity:
Springer Publishing Company is seeking a dynamic, purposeful, and entrepreneurial Higher Education Sales Advisor to join our team. This role focuses on driving new sales and recurring businesses with small to mid-sized academic institutions, primarily within graduate nursing, public health, and healthcare administration programs. Key Responsibilities
As the Higher Education Sales Advisor, you will manage the full sales cycle for your territory, driving revenue growth and building meaningful client relationships. Key responsibilities include:
Sales and Territory Management
- Drive revenue growth through initiative-taking territory management, including identifying new opportunities and nurturing existing accounts.
- Maximize sales via online presentations, product demonstrations, and consultative selling strategies.
- Build and maintain accurate forecasts and records in the CRM system (Salesforce).
Client-Centric Consultative Selling
- Lead discovery sessions with academic decision-makers to identify challenges and opportunities within their programs.
- Develop tailored proposals and solutions that position our products as integral to their future vision for their courses and programs.
- Execute initiative-taking, consultative communications to educate faculty members and program directors about product features, benefits, and relevance.
- Conduct compelling product reviews and demonstrations, addressing key pain points and highlighting value-added solutions.
Relationship Building and Customer Development
- Cultivate long-term relationships by understanding the unique needs of clients and providing exceptional customer experiences.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to expand revenue within existing accounts.
- Represent the "voice of the customer" to internal teams, collaborating with Marketing and Editorial to align strategies with customer feedback and market trends.
Innovation and Market Awareness
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving clients’ needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Actively participate in regional and national trade shows, conferences, and sales meetings to represent the brand and connect with potential customers.
Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
- 5+ years of consultative sales experience in higher education, ideally with digital education products or in health-related publishing.
- Proven ability to influence and persuade decision-makers while delivering exceptional customer-centric solutions.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Salesforce is highly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Physical Requirements
