This position serves in a customer-facing, consultative role and is responsible for providing human resources support in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Human Resources Specialist will provide transactional support, guidance and review for complex payroll and human resource related transactions, including onboarding and off boarding staff. The Human Resources Specialist will work closely with employees and supervisors within the Police department, as well as the B&F Business Center team, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. The Human Resource Specialist will also provide administrative support to the Chief of Police and manage business continuity projects. This position functions under limited supervision and is expected to use technology to provide professional services.
