Instructional Design, Senior Manager Full Description

Job Summary
As the Senior Manager, Instructional Design, you will lead and manage instructional design and media staff to scope, develop, and deliver complex programs and courses to support University and college initiatives. You will establish operational plans and provide oversight for complex projects with college stakeholders and their faculty to design, develop, and deliver online, hybrid and face-to-face courses. This position will oversee design of digital course content with faculty members, assist with curriculum development, and integration of teaching and learning technology tools.
 
You will provide overall leadership and direction for assigned staff.
 
This is a remote position with a salary between $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

What We're Looking For:
You will need the following education and experience:
  • BA/BS in technology, business or related fields preferred. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be accepted
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in education designing, developing, and/or teaching courses, including experience with leading/managing projects, teams, or instructional services
 
The following education and experience is preferred:
  • Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related fields
  • Experience leading/managing instructional design teams in higher education
  • Experience designing and delivering academic courses and faculty professional development
  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in online & blended environments
 
Skills needed:
  • Effectively manage and motivate team members
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with all levels of the university community and the ability to work across organizational boundaries, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning
  • Ability to research, assess, select, implement, and support instructional media and emerging technologies that benefit the university's teaching and learning priorities
  • High developed experience in applying learning theory and pedagogy to develop instructional design strategies. Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for teaching and learning, including but not limited to, multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, online collaborative tools, and high impact practices for learning
