Overview:
JOB SUMMARY
CSU Global is seeking a Casual Part-Time Instructional Design Technology Specialist (IDTS) who plays a key role in the design, development, management, and support of online courses, ensuring they meet University standards. The IDTS assists with the technical and programmatic aspects of assigned online course development projects and collaborates with content experts, course instructors, and program directors to plan and coordinate course materials. The ideal candidate will apply pedagogical principles to design engaging learning activities and create compelling course content. The individual also provides consulting and training to team members and faculty and staff on the use of computer-based instructional and multimedia applications. This position is casual part-time with up to 29 hours per week of work as needed.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Manage multiple online instructional design projects and provide project management throughout the development process.
● Apply instructional design principles and theories while adhering to university online course design standards.
● Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that supports student learning, success, and retention.
● Create supplemental content/media (audio, video, simulations, role-play, games etc.) that present course content in a variety of ways.
● Collaborate with and support the content expert and program director in the creation of assessments, assignments, and activities.
● Maintain course development documents that accurately reflect course content.
● Ensure assets and courses are WCAG 2, Section 504, and 508 compliant.
● Conduct quality assurance review on all produced materials and the final course.
● Serve as copy editor to correct grammatical and punctuation errors.
● Input or direct the input of curriculum content into the LMS (Canvas) platform.
● Provide technical course-related support to faculty during course delivery.
● Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge and application of WCAG 2 and ADA standards is required.
- Knowledge of APA style and formatting.
- Experience with online teaching and learning pedagogy for higher education or corporate training.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying instructional design theory, models, and best practices.
- Experience with course development software and learning management systems, especially Canvas.
- Experience with 3rd party publisher tools such as uCertify, Labster, etc.
- Apply visual design skills and storyboard learning materials.
- Ability to plan, strategize, and creatively design major instructional design projects for online initiatives.
- Collaborate, persuade, lead, motivate, instruct, as part of a team and prioritize projects and activities as required.
- Analyze processes and procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
- Enthusiasm for researching and experimenting with emerging education and web technologies.
- Able to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
- Use and editing of basic HTML.
- Use of Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate, Respondus, Camtasia & leveraging AI.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and team-building skills.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of direct experience as an instructional designer or related position.
- Strong Canvas LMS with Cidi Labs DesignPLUS experience.
- At least three (3) years of HTML mark-up experience is preferred.
- Audio and video production experience is preferred.

Salary: $30/hour
