This position collaborates with the Learning & Development management team to design, develop and implement first-class development programs that support CDW’s strategies and business goals. Scope includes the design, development and implementation of learning solutions for the organization. This role drives and implements design strategy and performance support to maximize coworker capability and productivity. The Instructional Designer creates and leads a cross-departmental CDW-wide network to define client needs and ensure all relevant strategy and process updates are embedded within targeted programs. In addition, the Instructional Designer manages communication, feedback and prioritization processes to ensure alignment with numerous cross-functional stakeholders.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead program management for learning programs, including needs assessment, feedback and prioritization processes, instructional design and stakeholder communications  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define needs and translate business requirements into performance and learning objectives
  • Develop curriculum proactively and just-in-time to address business strategies
  • Build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships cross-functionally
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for program needs across leadership and other departments
  • Oversee and implement train-the-trainer sessions and ensure just-in-time communications across a dispersed Instructor network
  • Lead operations, logistics and resource management to include process checklists, job aids online resource portals, learning sequences, participant materials, instructor materials, testing materials, surveys and other resources. Ensure just-in-time access and seamless execution
  • Develop, manage and execute project management strategies to ensure effective resource allocation, commitment from project team members, timeliness and attainment of business requirements.
  • Effectively measure and assess participants’ skills and client satisfaction related to provided services. Establish strategies for addressing gaps. Advise on methods and approaches to reinforce skills
  • Leads development and enhancement of assessment tools ensuring fair and unbiased evaluation
  • Evaluates solutions effectiveness, identifies and implements enhancements
  • Select, design and develop learning utilizing a full range of modalities, including physical and virtual classroom, video, digital and social learning techniques
  • Research, source and recommend solutions for performance improvement addressing knowledge and skill gaps
  • Identify alternative learning solutions based on existing conditions including effectiveness, quality, cost/benefit analysis
  • Continuously develop instructional design and project management skills based on leading-edge concepts
  • Manage and maintain curriculum review process with subject matter experts to ensure up-to-date and relevant content
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to share best practices and support organizational initiatives
  • Participate on project teams to design and develop instructional materials
  • Identify opportunities for continuous program improvement and establish business case recommendations for changes
  • Maintain an awareness of developments in the learning and development field to ensure that CDW continues to take advantage of best practices
  • Up to 10% travel​

What we expect of you:
Minimum basic requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience with 3 years’ experience as a CDW coworker or 3 years’ project management and writing experience OR
  • 7 years' experience in project management and writing

Preferred skills, experience, and qualities needed
  • Track record of managing an instructional design project from needs analysis through implementation
  • Work with subject matter experts to build sales and consulting skills as well as technical acumen
  • Act as an advisor to provide instructional design best practices to others
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create scalable curricula supporting the continual growth of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously while engaging a variety of stakeholders across the organization, adapting to the changing needs of the business and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Track record of successfully working independently with little direction

Pay range: $70,000.00 - $97,200.00, depending on experience and skill set
