Join Our Team: ECPI University is seeking an experienced Instructional Development Manager (IDM) to join our Curricular Innovation and Production team. This role blends instructional design expertise with project management leadership and focuses on both academic curriculum and certification preparation in the IT field—including certifications such as CompTIA, CEH, and Microsoft and other fields as assigned. What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as internal and external project manager for course development and revisions, ensuring quality content is delivered on time.
  • Design and develop engaging online, hybrid, and on-ground courses using best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design.
  • Lead the design of IT certification preparation experiences (and other fields as assigned) aligned with industry standards and aimed at improving credential pass rates.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and leadership to align course materials with learning outcomes, employer expectations, and IT industry demands.
  • Use digital authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe eLearning Suite) and learning management systems (Canvas preferred) to produce interactive and adaptive course content.
  • Integrate feedback from course evaluations, student performance data, and pass rates to continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Provide training and implementation support to faculty during course launches and updates.
  • Pilot new technologies and instructional methodologies, including Generative AI, to support innovation.
  • Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement in curriculum development and learning technologies.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of instructional design experience in higher education.
    • Experience with distance or hybrid learning.
    • Experience designing certification-aligned courses in the IT field is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models.
    • Proficiency in LMS platforms (Canvas preferred) and tools like Storyline, Adobe eLearning Suite.
    • Project management skills with experience using tools like Smartsheet.
    • Ability to translate technical IT concepts into clear, engaging learner experiences.
    • Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
    • Comfortable working independently and in remote/hybrid environments.
