TITLE: | Instructional Support Associate - Designer SL-2
DEPARTMENT: | Center for Learning Design, Innovation, and Online Instruction
SALARY RANGE: | $44,000-$47,000
Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Instructional Designer position in the Center for Learning Design, Innovation, and Online Instruction, beginning February 17, 2025. This position is an 11-month position.

Responsibilities
  • Faculty support in course design and management.
  • Learning management system (LMS) support.
  • Training faculty, staff, and students on the use and application of software to support instruction.
  • Creating instructional and training materials.
  • Development, delivery, and assessment of professional development opportunities.
  • Keeping current on best practices that support accessible teaching.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Independence in work.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field – education, instructional media/technology, curriculum design, or related field.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Experience in course design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success in online and other environments.
  • Clear, concise, and friendly communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to service excellence.

Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university (e.g., Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, Multimedia Development.)
  • 2-3 years of experience applying instructional design principles to course content.
  • Experience with creating accessible content.
  • Experience with faculty support and training development.
  • Experience with Brightspace by D2L learning management system.
  • Experience with multimedia.
