TITLE: | Instructional Support Associate - Designer SL-2
DEPARTMENT: | Center for Learning Design, Innovation, and Online Instruction
SALARY RANGE: | $44,000-$47,000

Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Instructional Designer position in the Center for Learning Design, Innovation, and Online Instruction, beginning February 17, 2025. This position is an 11-month position.

Responsibilities

Faculty support in course design and management.
Learning management system (LMS) support.
Training faculty, staff, and students on the use and application of software to support instruction.
Creating instructional and training materials.
Development, delivery, and assessment of professional development opportunities.
Keeping current on best practices that support accessible teaching.
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
Independence in work.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field – education, instructional media/technology, curriculum design, or related field.
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
Experience in course design.
Demonstrated commitment to student success in online and other environments.
Clear, concise, and friendly communication skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to service excellence.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university (e.g., Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, Multimedia Development.)
2-3 years of experience applying instructional design principles to course content.
Experience with creating accessible content.
Experience with faculty support and training development.
Experience with Brightspace by D2L learning management system.
Experience with multimedia.
