About the role
We’re looking to hire an Instructional Systems Designer to join our Courseware team and support the development of high-quality eLearning content for Part 135 (Charter) and Part 91 (Corporate) flight departments. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), training solutions managers, and other team members to design, develop, and enhance training modules that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You’ll play a key role in designing training that enhances safety and compliance in the aviation industry.

What you'll do
  • Design and Develop Aviation eLearning Content
    • Collaborate with regulators, clients and SMEs to gather content and ensure technical accuracy and relevance of training materials.
    • Develop course materials such as storyboards, quizzes, simulations, and assessments using instructional design best practices (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
    • Utilize eLearning authoring tools to build engaging courseware.
  • Maintain and Update Existing Content
    • Conduct quality assurance checks on eLearning modules to ensure consistency, clarity, and functionality.
    • Update training content based on regulatory changes, customer feedback, and emerging best practices.
  • Support Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Stay informed about trends and technologies in instructional design and eLearning.
    • Utilize best-in-class Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to bring product innovation to training development and delivery.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing training content or processes to improve learning outcomes and efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
    • Work closely with other instructional designers, developers, and project managers to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality products.
    • Participate in user testing and pilot programs to gather feedback on course effectiveness and learner engagement.

What you'll need
  • You’ve Got the Basics
    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Aviation, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in eLearning or aviation-related training.
    • Familiarity with instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
    • Understanding of eLearning standards like SCORM, AICC, and xAPI.
  • You’re Detail-Oriented and Tech-Savvy
    • Proficient in eLearning authoring tools and multimedia tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator).
    • Interest in or experience with artificial intelligence (AI) in instructional design or eLearning development.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bonus Points
    • Previous experience in aviation training or working with Part 135/Part 91 flight departments.
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
