Job Summary  | The AI Product Manager is responsible for assisting in the development, and implementation of AI-powered solutions. This role bridges the gap between institutional needs and technical capabilities—translating emerging AI technologies into practical, secure, and compliant tools that support the University.

The ideal candidate is experienced in managing technical products, understands the potential and limitations of AI, and is skilled at collaborating across diverse teams to deliver thoughtful, user-centered solutions. This position plays a key role in ensuring our AI products are responsibly developed, aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA), and positioned for long-term success.
Responsibilities  | • Lead the full lifecycle of AI platform development, from discovery to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and align solutions with organizational goals.
• Define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and manage backlogs based on user needs, technical feasibility, and institutional impact.
• Stay informed on AI advancements—such as large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AIOps—and apply relevant insights to product planning.
• Integrate and scale Microsoft 365 AI capabilities—including Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate), and Azure AI services—into organizational workflows and AI product strategies.
• Ensure AI tools are implemented in compliance with data privacy, ethical AI principles, and applicable regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).
• Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, cybersecurity, legal, and governance teams to build secure, scalable AI platforms.
• Support user onboarding, training, change management, and feedback loops to promote adoption and long-term engagement.
• Monitor product performance and user satisfaction to guide iterations and enhancements.
• Advocate for responsible, transparent, and human-centered AI use within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications  | Requires an advanced degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and 8-10 years of experience in product development or in a related area.
Preferences  |  • Experience managing technical or AI/ML products in complex environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI services and platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google Cloud AI).
• Strong understanding of AI development processes, including model evaluation, prompt design, and iterative testing.
• Experience with AIOps practices and tools to support continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring of AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging Microsoft 365’s AI features—including Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, and related tools—to enhance productivity, automate workflows, and deliver AI-driven insights.
• Experience in regulated industries, with working knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, or similar compliance standards.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools for product lifecycle management.
• Experience in higher education, or research-focused organizations is highly desirable.
