Junior Instructional Designer Full Description

Job Title:  Junior Instructional Designer     
Reports To:  VP of Training
Position Type:  Full Time / Hybrid (4 Days in Office Required)
Salary Range: $35.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience 
Location: El Segundo, CA

Summary:
As a Junior Instructional Designer at Mendocino Farms, you'll have the unique opportunity to create captivating and effective training materials that resonate with a diverse team. Your primary focus will be on developing engaging, mobile-first content for both our hourly staff and management teams.

Responsibilities:
Partner with VP of Training and Development to understand training needs, identify content gaps, and refine existing materials for greater efficiency and impact

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs across key areas:
    • Hospitality and customer service excellence
    • Food production and safety standards
    • Management development
    • Menu knowledge and execution
    • Compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Create engaging digital and in-person learning experiences using simple gamification technique
  • Support new menu item launches through content development, including written materials and video production
  • Conduct training effectiveness analysis and provide data-driven improvement recommendations
  • Lead the transition to microlearning and mobile-first approaches, ensuring our training methods evolve with industry best practices

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in the restaurant or service industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile-first design approaches
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Suite, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Experience with AI tools for content creation and collaboration
  • Video editing skills preferred
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication abilities
