Position Overview: VHB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development (L&D) Director to join our team. This position is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating effective and dynamic L&D programs that support business needs, enhance an engaged and committed workplace, maximize employees’ professional and personal potential, and support a culture of continuous improvement. This position also oversees VHB’s IACET-accredited Center for Education and drives education initiatives. 
  
Additionally, this pivotal role involves partnering with our IT and Technology leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive learning strategy aimed at upskilling our workforce in the technology domain. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader with a passion for developing talent and driving organizational success. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the design, deployment and delivery of learning programs that are aligned with VHB’s strategic goals, ensuring they are engaging, effective, and accessible.
  • Leverage technology and develop creative, innovative ways to enhance the organization's ability to deliver effective and efficient training programs, utilizing cutting-edge learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other educational technologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of continuous development and high performance.
  • Direct the assessment of skill gaps and training needs, the creation of training content and materials, and the coordination and delivery of training sessions. Conduct professional development needs analyses.
  • Collaborate with IT and Technology leaders to assess current skills gaps, identify future skill needs, and develop a robust learning strategy to upskill the workforce in emerging technologies.
  • Support other HR initiatives and programs. Assist the senior management team in developing HR strategies. 
  • Utilize a variety of learning modalities, including e-learning, instructor-led training, workshops, and hands-on technical sessions.
  • Measure the effectiveness of learning interventions through robust evaluation methods and utilize data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the L&D budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources to maximize impact.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in L&D to ensure that VHB remains at the forefront of organizational development.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing technology-focused learning programs.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a proven track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, partner, influence, consult, and collaborate with all levels within VHB
  • Exceptional leadership and change management skills
  • Ability to translate business strategies and priorities into learning objectives
