Learning & Development Instructional Designer and Facilitator Full Description

Overview: 
The Learning & Development Facilitator and Instructional Designer will work across the Firm to ensure that the proper educational resources and solutions are in place to drive high performance for Firm personnel. This person will build on existing programs and be responsible for the identification, assessment, development, implementation, execution, change management and ongoing project/process management of learning initiatives, technologies/systems, and vendors to drive increased performance.

Responsibilities: 
  • Partner across the Firm and with the wider L&D function to gain in-depth understanding of the needs of staff at various levels in order to develop tailored training programs
  • Determine training solutions that will enable increased Firm and employee performance
  • Develop unique training programs to support employees’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create content (e.g., training outlines, scripts, procedure manuals, job aids, and course materials).
  • Support and train stakeholders to facilitate programs with their own teams.
  • Develop training solutions in a variety of formats/approaches (Web-based/On-demand, blended learning, simulations, assessments, job aids, etc.) using a variety of authoring and design tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, iSpring/PowerPoint, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Animaker).
  • Facilitate sessions on a variety of topics to all levels of the organization using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
  • Create and reviewing evaluation metrics related to program effectiveness to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine performance requirements and the knowledge, abilities and skills that employees need to achieve the requirements. 
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in facilitation and e-learning methods and techniques.

 Qualifications: 
  • 7 + years of experience in learning and development (ideally within legal or other professional services) 
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred in organizational leadership or equivalent. 
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide learning programs that cover a wide range of technical and ‘soft’ professional skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with a range of audiences and levels of experience
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working across all levels of an organization
  • Able to build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external trainers, coaches and consultants
  • Proactive team player capable of self-management and oversight of processes

The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on various job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This is a non-exempt role, meaning it is eligible for overtime pay.
