Position Summary:
The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing high-quality, engaging learning programs for both venue and home office teams. This role focuses on creating innovative learning experiences that elevate skills, support leadership development, and drive operational excellence. The Learning Experience Specialist collaborates across teams to ensure learning programs align with company goals and support the development of associates at all levels. The role emphasizes associate growth, collaboration, effective communication, and results-oriented leadership.
Location: This is a hybrid position, including 3 days onsite at our Home Office in Chicago (River North), IL.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Lead the design and implementation of interactive learning programs and materials that enhance the skills of associates and leaders across the organization.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including operations and HR, to identify learning needs and ensure that programs are relevant, engaging, and aligned with operational goals.
- Ensure all learning materials are accessible and easy to implement for venue leaders and corporate teams.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of learning programs, gathering feedback to make improvements and adjustments as needed.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and trends in learning and development to innovate and enhance learning experience.
- Function as the primary administrator for the Learning Management System assisting in its implementation and integration for the organization.
- Track and analyze the impact of learning programs through feedback, assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Use data to drive continuous improvement in learning strategies, ensuring alignment with business outcomes.
- Drives Effective Communication by providing timely, clear reports and updates on program effectiveness. Actively shares insights with leadership to improve program results.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
Key Competencies:
- Associate Development: Demonstrated ability to design and implement learning programs that clearly define development goals and promote continuous growth.
- Collaboration: Proven experience in fostering teamwork and collaboration across departments to achieve training objectives.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity and timeliness in all training-related interactions.
- Effective Decision Making: Ability to make data-driven decisions that consider both immediate and long-term impacts on training effectiveness and business outcomes.
- Team-Oriented Results: Focused on aligning learning programs with team and organizational goals to drive shared responsibility and impactful results.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years instructional training designer experience with learning management systems
- 3+ years supporting a high growth organization with a dynamic workforce across all levels – including field, corporate, and executives.
- Previous experience with LMS Implementation and system administration.
- Previous experience with enterprise design programs such as Articulate
- Previous experience utilizing A.I. or GPT technologies to create training efficiencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build solid internal and external relationships.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Well organized and able to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize across several projects and tasks.
- High level of creativity and ability to engage when creating training content.
- Ability to travel up to 20% to various locations to support business needs.
- This position must pass a post-offer background check.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development or a related field preferred.
- Experience with the following LMS systems Wisetail, Docebo or Schoox preferred
Physical Requirements:
Physical activities on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; frequent use of telephone/video conferencing and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting, up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
