Learning Specialist

The Learning Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of learning content in support of OrthoVirginia’s leadership and talent development vision.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and learning solutions for leaders and employees to accomplish performance objectives and develop leadership and management skills.
    • eLearning/LMS, virtually led, and in person classroom modalities
  • Consult with stakeholders across the organization to conduct needs analyses to identify skill gaps and determine learning solutions that meet the organization’s needs.
    • An initial emphasis on building self- and people-leadership and management skills
  • Apply existing knowledge of learning theories and models, modalities, and technologies to training solutions to deliver creative, innovative, and repeatable learning experiences.
  • Responsible for delivery of weekly new hire onboarding sessions as well as classroom-style, and virtual courses for OV employees.
  • Design overall learning curriculum, develop and maintain courses, job aids, training materials, handouts, facilitator guides, and eLearning.
  • Responsible for building, managing, and assigning eLearning content in the Company’s Learning Management System (“LMS”)
  • Collaborate and promote working relationships with key stakeholders to include business partners, HRBPs, and others.
  • Participate as a key lead in designing the annual Leadership Summit

Desired Experience:
  • Proven relevant work experience to execute the duties and responsibilities independently and confidently; proven experience in the development, management, and execution of leadership and development programs
  • Strong understanding, application, and experience of adult learning and education including instructional design, employee development programs, knowledge and implementation of learning theories and models, and leadership development
  • Leadership experience is preferred
  • Experience developing and managing content in an LMS is required
    • Workday, Platcore, and Articulate 365 experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study.
