About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about crafting impactful messages and driving executive engagement? Ellucian is seeking a Manager of Executive Communications to support and execute day-to-day communications for our CEO, with a primary focus on customer-facing messaging. This role is pivotal in shaping how our executive leadership connects with key stakeholders in the higher education community.
This position will establish and operationalize the executive communications function, ensuring streamlined processes and consistency in messaging. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, a strong project manager, and a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Where You Will Make an Impact
CEO & Executive Communications Execution
  • Draft and refine customer-focused communications, including emails, presentations, speeches, and thought leadership content for the CEO.
  • Assist in developing clear and compelling messaging for keynotes, customer events, industry conferences, and internal engagements.
  • Ensure all communications reflect Ellucian’s voice, vision, and commitment to higher education.
Content Development & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Create engaging customer outreach materials, including direct emails, blog posts, and LinkedIn articles to enhance CEO visibility and engagement.
  • Develop materials that address key concerns and priorities of higher education leaders, such as university presidents and decision-makers.
  • Support internal messaging for executive updates, all-hands meetings, and leadership communications.
Process & Function Development
  • Establish and document executive communication workflows and processes to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Implement a system for tracking CEO communications and engagements to ensure follow-ups and alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, PR, and Customer Success) to align executive messaging with broader company initiatives.
Performance Expectations
  • Quickly familiarize yourself with Ellucian’s executive communication needs and prioritize ongoing projects.
  • Within six months, establish a structured approach to CEO communications, including a content calendar and response workflow.
  • Within 12 months, ensure all executive communications processes are fully operational and effectively support the CEO’s office.

Success Metrics
  • Consistent, high-quality messaging in CEO customer communications and public engagements.
  • Increased CEO visibility and engagement with key higher education stakeholders.
  • Established structured processes for executive communications, improving efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Will Bring
  • Strong Writing & Storytelling Skills – Proven experience in executive communications, speech writing, or content development.
  • Experience in Customer-Focused Messaging – Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling content for higher education leaders.
  • Process-Oriented Mindset – Skilled at implementing and refining workflows to improve executive communications efficiency.
  • Higher Education or Tech Industry Background (Preferred) – Experience working in or supporting communications within higher education, technology, or SaaS is a plus.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management Skills – Ability to coordinate across teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
