The primary role of the Manager, Professional Development, Sales (MPD) is developing and delivering a comprehensive sales skills training program that enhances sales skills, knowledge, and techniques of our sales force, driving improved performance and revenue growth. Through a blend of onboarding, strategic planning, interactive workshops, and continuous learning initiatives, the MPD will empower the sales team to excel in a competitive market landscape, ensuring they are equipped with cutting-edge sales tactics, product expertise, and customer engagement strategies. This role will foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in sales execution through the creation of new training modules and coaching sessions that grow and align with the core values and expanding offerings of 95 Percent Group.
Essential Responsibilities:
Onboarding and Training Plan Development
Develop, lead, and manage a process that ensures consistent onboarding and ongoing training of Regional Account Executives and Account Associates.
- Training & Development
- Serves a critical role in rolling out a new proprietary sales methodology focused on increasing control of the sale, focused execution and an elevated connection to customers and prospects
- Works with the Sales management team to assist in developing targeted sales skills for identified members of the team
- Collaborates with the Operations team to incorporate sales data that validates the impact of best practices and the effectiveness of the sales methodology
- Provides or coordinates training covering key collateral, power points, process documents, structures, platforms, and sales tools.
- Acts as a resource for coaching, questions and feedback.
- Oversees scheduling or leading client meetings and sales presentations for trainee shadowing opportunities.
- Oversees scheduling of cross-departmental introductions and provides clear objectives.
- Conducts on-going training and resources for the sales team on new products, navigating sales objections and highlighting sales success stories through collaboration with Client Success, Sales Managers and PL leadership.
- Conducts orientation training of the sales process.
- Managing and Updating Information
- Maintain a system to effectively track information.
- Maintains and updates the onboarding channel resource library of materials utilized during the sales onboarding process.
- Communicates key objectives to all sales and cross-departmental colleagues that lead onboarding meetings.
- Works with Sales Operations to track and share sales data to validate best practices
- Evaluation
- Organizes product training that includes a reflection guide & assessment of product knowledge.
- Regularly evaluates the onboarding process, providing recommendations on how to achieve department objectives more effectively.
- Creates onboarding evaluation tools to help guide new RAEs and AAs that address their specific learning needs.
- Special Projects: May be responsible for additional special projects within sales or across departments as the sales liaison.
Accountabilities:
- Training
- Designs and implements engaging training programs tailored to meet the needs of 95 Percent Group's sales team, ensuring alignment with our core values and the latest market trends.
- Employs a variety of training methodologies, including e-learning, one-on-one coaching, and team exercises, to cater to diverse learning styles within the sales force.
- Stays abreast of the latest sales training techniques and industry trends, continuously integrating innovative strategies into the training repertoire of 95 Percent Group.
- Assures RAEs and AAs are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to excel in their role.
- Manages and Update Information
- Coordinates with administrative peers to ensure meetings with key cross-departmental partners are scheduled and clear meeting objectives are communicated.
- Collaborates with sales and product development teams to maintain a deep understanding of product offerings, enabling the delivery of expert-level training in product knowledge.
- Designs and implements engaging training programs tailored to meet the needs of 95 Percent Group's sales team, ensuring alignment with our core values and the latest market trends.
- Evaluation
- Conducts ongoing needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop training solutions that enhance the sales team's knowledge base and sales techniques.
- Provides candid and specific verbal & written feedback to training participants resulting in their awareness of strengths and weaknesses including a plan for improved performance.
- Demonstrates recognition of the skill level of training participants and adjusts coaching and training techniques to meet the needs of individuals.
- Coordinates and communicates progress and needs assessment with regional sales managers.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, using key performance indicators to measure success and inform continuous curriculum enhancements.
- Demonstrates direct and open communication to key stakeholders resulting in positive relationships and mutual alignment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of proven sales experience as either an individual sales contributor or sales manager carrying a quota.
- The ideal candidate will also have at least 3 years of experience as a sales coach, training specialist, or similar position
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field; master’s degree preferred
- Advanced customer service and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to design effective training programs
- Outstanding coaching skills
- Great organizational, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to measure performance and address learning needs
- Experience with building and developing teams
- Possession of certifications in sales training is preferred
- High performing track record and strong understanding of what drives success in educational publishing
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals at all levels of management to develop partnerships and align training with the business strategy

- The use of standard office equipment/computers and/or level of physical work required
