About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a Product Manager (Colleague Human Resources exp) for an innovative, collaborative, hands-on role as the voice of the customer who will provide focus and day-to-day oversight to the team working on our current and future Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will drive, shape, and influence the right customer experience and operational flows for Colleague Human Resources.
You must be able to work with a wide range of roles: User Experience Designers, Business Analysts, Sales, Support Analysts, Architects, Developers, other Product Managers, and our business development team to support agile development and ensure successful customer delivery, feature adoption, and satisfaction. You must be able to interact and engage with customers collaboratively.

Where you will make an impact
- Influence our HCM strategy based on customer requirements and market trends
- Own current and future Colleague HR/Payroll and HCM solutions and drive product strategy, product roadmap, backlogs, and go to market
- Write product themes/initiatives complete with value oriented OKR’s
- Write epics and stories to support completion of initiatives
- Support backlog prioritization activities, defect analysis, and complex problem definition including alignment of user stories and acceptance criteria with epics, initiatives, and themes.
- Collaborate with customers for product validation and to understand/solve challenges, including supporting betas and development partner groups when applicable
- Prioritize development activities to continuously deliver value to customers
- Work collaboratively with R&D and UX to build roadmaps and plan releases
- Evangelize for the product through in-person and virtual presentations and engagements
- Support the sales process with product expertise
- Collaborate with solution success team, comprised of leaders across all phases of the customer journey, to achieve successful customer adoption, value realization, satisfaction and overall solution health
- Own and resolve critical problems by ensuring that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems.
- Facilitate team coordination to investigate issues, implement solutions and preventative measures. In short, you get things done.
- Respond to questions and monitoring customer communities
What you will bring
- At least two years’ experience working as a product manager
- At least five years’ experience with Human Resources/Payroll and/or higher education solutions
- Experience with Colleague Human Resources is a plus
- Experience with integration methods and technologies, mainly real-time
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
- Relentless critical thinker with a passion for learning
- Curious, willing to ask questions and take feedback
- Ability to simplify complex challenges into simpler outcomes and stories to drive shared understandings
- Experience researching product ideas and turning them into compelling business cases
