Program/Project Assistant, Senior Full Description

Job Summary
As the Academic Services Coordinator & Schedule Deputy for the School of Construction Management Technology, you'll play a crucial role in managing academic operations and supporting student success. In this multifaceted position, you will:
Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and the Office of the Registrar to develop and publish course schedules for all academic terms
Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and propose resolutions
Assist instructors with evening exam scheduling and ensure posting of required course information
Stay current on University policies, procedures, and deadlines, including those for International Students and Scholars
Manage incomplete grade reports and address student grade inquiries
Serve as the primary contact for graduate student registration and monitor student progress from admission to graduation
Guide graduate students on registration procedures, schedule adjustments, and school policies
Support the admissions process for prospective students
Liaise with the Graduate School, Registrar, and Bursar's offices to optimize departmental processes

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex academic systems. You'll be instrumental in ensuring smooth academic operations and supporting student success in the dynamic field of Construction Management Technology at Purdue University.

What We Are Looking For :
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
  •     High school diploma 
  •     Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience. 
  •     Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills needed:
  •  Excellent communication skills.  
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with Cognos Database Query, Curriculog, and Banner.  
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Able to use sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Able to perform analysis to understand and resolve issues, and independently develop solutions or recommendations for problems requiring higher-level approval.
 
What is helpful:
  • Familiarity with academic scheduling tools and concepts, programs, procedures, policies, and the admissions and transition-to-major processes. 
  • Knowledge of Cognos Database Query, Curriculog, and Banner.
