About the Role

Instructional Design is a large department made up of several teams spread around the globe. Each team has a portfolio that includes developing a number of instructional products, like textbooks, exams, and scripted guides that teachers use to deliver daily lessons. Many of these projects are interdependent among our teams and other departments, requiring complex, centralized coordination.

The volume of product the department produces each year is staggering. Depending on the year and how many programs we’re serving, the number of scripted guides alone is in the tens of thousands.

Aside from product development, Instructional Design leadership plays an important role in driving the company’s academic agenda. This means that the Vice President and a team of directors collaborate with other departments and drive complicated academic initiatives.

As a Project Director, you will play a critical role in keeping the department internally aligned on systems and priorities, and support collaborative cross-departmental work.

What You Will Do

  • Audit systems (like capacity management) and processes (like workflow) within the department to identify needed improvements; work with the Vice President to create better systems and implement them throughout the department.
  • Support the strategic priorities of the department by organizing information, presentations, communication, training and meetings.
  • Act on behalf of the Vice President to answer queries and support department initiatives.
  • Execute or oversee specific projects.

What You Should Have

  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams and complicated projects
  • Clear, concise writing style
  • Extreme orientation toward efficiency
  • Refined work habits – you do not require follow up and oversight to ensure your work is complete, accurate and delivered on time

What We Offer

  • Opportunity for impact: The Instructional Design department as a whole directly impacts the experiences of over one million children
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangement.
  • Health + Dental insurance
  • 20 paid leave days (excluding public holidays) and 6 sick days
  • Career Mobility: Needs within the organization are growing rapidly. Mobility to other teams is welcomed!
