Department Summary

The VPRI Institutional Research unit is within the Division of Research and Innovation at UNT, a designated Carnegie R1 Research University and a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). The VPRI Institutional Research unit supports the central management and oversight of UNT institutional sponsored research grants. Institutional research grant awards are multifaceted, complex in nature, and support research activities that encompass a broad range of university stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students and the research enterprise community.This unit also supports university wide student research initiatives as part of the overall student success initiatives as a high impact practice. These initiatives include supporting training grants development and implementation, workshops, information sessions, and collaboration with other units across campus.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting institutional research projects and initiatives in the Division of Research and Innovation, including student research grants, large institutional grants that UNT is eligible for due to its HSI designation, grant development, and other relevant Institutional grants.

This position will collaborate with faculty and staff on project evolution from concept to completion, implementation of project activities, and facilitate the management of grants to ensure timely programs and intended outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a business field with 5 years' of experience managing projects, working with project management tools, working/communicating with various levels in the organization; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Job Duties:

Works under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Research and Innovation to develop and implement student research initiatives such as workshops, webinars, and information sessions.Support the growth of institutional and student training grants. Management or support of programs that support student awards by various federal and state funding programs such as the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP), student training programs and the Texas Higher Education Board Texas Leadership Research Scholars (THECB TLRS), NSF REU and NIH training grants.

Supports the AVP supervisor, faculty and staff in research development activities related to grant submission and grant program delivery for HSI/MSI Institutional grants and student training grants.

Implement data-decision processes to gauge outcomes. Facilitate and analyze stakeholder surveys or focus groups/interviews, collect data for analysis and write-up of project data reports. Assist with the dissemination of reports, as needed, to support institutional research sponsored project initiatives and requirements.

Other activities and duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
