Research Assistant Full Description

Job Summary
This position (up to 40 hours per week) involves conducting research work to support the Jackson lab. This includes, but is not limited to, animal handling, cryo-sectioning brain tissue, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and western blot analyses. The position also includes data and image analyses.
Essential Functions
  • Cryosectioning.
  • Immunohistochemistry.
  • Confocal microscopy and image.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of HS Diploma or GED 
  • Minimum of 2-3 Years experience. 
  •  
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience working in a research lab and performing experiments with minimal supervision.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade F. Compensation for this grade ranges from $14.10 to $21.15 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
