Senior Admissions Assistant II Full Description

Position Summary: 

Involved in administrative and general assistance type office work for the Office of JD Admissions. Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties to support the entire JD Admissions operations, including those of a confidential nature. Process application materials for JD and transfer applicants and access whether applications are complete. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Ensure proficiency in aspects and functionality of the Admissions database. Serve as a point person for questions/issues and troubleshooting regarding Admissions database. Interact with Law School personnel including those at the senior level regarding specific issues and problems. Prioritize office activities and delegate to student and/or casual employees. Customize and/or compose correspondence in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing, data entry, and, modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Handle complex budget work. 

Qualifications: 

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:

3+ years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience or equivalent (with Associates degree) or some college.

Preferred Experience:

1+ years of office experience (with Bachelor’s degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proficiency with intermediate to advancedword processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate to fast,accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Familiarity with databases and ability to learn new databases. Additional Information: 

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $37.900. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
