About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a talented individual that has at least 7 years of advanced Colleague technical system administration experience for a Senior Colleague Infrastructure Technologist. This consultant works in both a team and independent environment delivering value add services that provide support to our higher education customers by understanding their business needs, troubleshooting and resolving technical and operational issues.
Proficiency of Colleague application and system administration practices is required for the position. Experience in administering a Colleague environment in either Unix-UniData, Windows-UniData, Windows-SQL or PostGreSQL, and managing, installing and updating Colleague and supporting applications are also needed.
Knowledge and/or current hands-on experience with Colleague modules, Envision programming, Ethos Identity, Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP), Ellucian Experience or other applications in the Ellucian portfolio in addition to Colleague system administration is a plus.
Higher education customers are transforming to modern campuses while leveraging technology and solutions to enable student success. In this mission critical role, you will partner with our customers to help enable their transformation to cloud/SAAS solutions and ensure successful adoption of these solutions.
Where you will make an impact
- Drive clients in their migration to SaaS (both UniData and SQL)
- Meet with customers to maintain open communication and deliver professional service technical engagement.
- Work with customers to gain an understanding of their goals, priorities, processes, and challenges related to the supported applications.
- Provide guidance and assist with reviewing, planning, and deploying changes and new functionality.
- Work with customers to review and modernize existing business processes, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational issues.
- Drive innovative and transformative strategies which will ensure successful SaaS implementations.
- Promote customer usage of Ellucian resources such as the Solution Center, product documentation and Communities.
- Success will be measured by customer satisfaction, achievement of projects, and utilization targets.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of Ellucian product technical system administration experience working in a customer-facing role within a Colleague software environment.
- Experience providing technical, system administration and support for Colleague.
- Experience delivering UniData to SQL migrations and Colleague Server migrations.
- Experience of technical administration of Colleague and related technology in the Colleague ecosystem including but not limited to:
- Colleague LDAP Integration
- Envision Data Exchange (EDx)
- Self-Service
- WebAPI
- Payment Gateway
- SA Valet
- ODS
- Ethos Integrations
- Knowledge in the following areas:
- Colleague Cloud Printing
- Single Sign-on Configuration/Support (SSO) including CAS and SAML2 protocols
- Colleague Architecture and data layers
- Unidata administration, operation, and maintenance
- Microsoft SQL Server database administration (DBA)
- SQL, PostGreSL, and Microsoft T-SQL
- Shell scripting
- Knowledge in the following areas would be advantageous:
- Ellucian Ethos Integration configuration and administration
- Colleague Operational Data Store (ODS)
- Ellucian Workflow
- Ethos Integration Deployment
- Ethos Identity Deployment
- Ellucian CRM Recruit, CRM Advise or Microsoft Dynamics
- Reporting tools such as Entrinsik Informer, SAP Business Objects, Argos
