Description  | Reporting to two department chairpersons, the Senior Executive Secretary will perform a full range of secretarial duties.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintains and updates both chairpersons’ appointment calendars, schedules and arranges meetings. Responds to telephone, visitor and student inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Maintains, updates and organizes electronic departmental faculty files and records. Maintains and processes all special academic forms. Works closely with chairpersons on department workflow entries associated with course, lab, faculty scheduling, and personnel changes. Distributes incoming mail, logs deliveries, and processes print jobs and book orders. Assists Track Coordinators and Graduate Directors at the discretion of the Chairs and Associate Chairs. Takes meeting notes at department meetings, oversees departmental travel arrangements, and assists department with review of reimbursement requests for completeness and accuracy. Orders supplies and food within the department budget as needed. Assists with hiring, training, and supervising student aids and coordinates with the Office of Student Employment. May perform other duties not specifically identified above, but which require the same degree of skills, and which are normally included within the above job title.   Hours: Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.  Subject to bumping
Qualifications  | Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Highly collaborative with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detail oriented with ability to prioritize. Ability and willingness to learn new systems.
Preferred Qualifications  | Proficiency in Ellucian Banner is preferred. Knowledge of processes in a higher education setting. Knowledge of Chrome River a plus.

Salary/Salary Range  | $40,925

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
