Job Description:

As a Senior Instructional Designer, you'll design and enhance impactful learning solutions for various audiences, including customers, partners, and internal teams. Your work will directly support product adoption, customer success, and business growth by creating inclusive, learner-centric training through multiple formats such as eLearning, video, and instructor-led sessions. 

You'll play a key role in shaping our learning design strategy, contributing to partner enablement efforts, and advancing our curriculum development practices. This is a great opportunity to innovate and make a measurable impact on our global learning community. 

Key Responsibilities 
Design and Develop Learning Experiences 
  • Lead the full instructional design process—needs assessment through evaluation—creating engaging and effective training using a range of formats and tools, including AI-enhanced content. 
Enable Product Adoption and Skill Development 
  • Develop role-based, technical training that empowers users to navigate Vertex products and tools confidently. 
Champion Learning Innovation 
  • Stay current with learning science trends (e.g., microlearning, gamification, AI) and apply best practices to improve content quality and learner engagement. 
Collaborate Across Teams 
  • Partner with stakeholders to align learning solutions with business objectives. Communicate project timelines and updates effectively throughout the development lifecycle. 
Maintain and Enhance Curriculum 
  • Recommend and implement curriculum updates to ensure learning content remains relevant, inclusive, and aligned with product changes. 
Deliver and Facilitate Training 
  • Lead virtual and in-person training sessions as needed, fostering positive learning environments. 
Evaluate Learning Impact 
  • Use data and learner feedback to continuously improve program effectiveness and identify new learning opportunities. 
Contribute to Peer Learning and Strategic Initiatives 
  • Support team members through peer reviews and participate in broader enablement projects and initiatives. 

What You Bring 
Experience 
  • 6+ years in instructional design, content development, education, consulting, or a related field 
  • 4+ years using content authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Camtasia) and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with virtual and instructor-led training delivery is a plus 

Skills & Knowledge 
  • Proficient in instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Agile/SAM) and adult learning theory 
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an accessible and engaging way 
  • Skilled in project management and cross-functional collaboration 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills 
  • Comfortable using tools like Camtasia, video editors, and AI voiceover platforms like WellSaid Labs 
  • Familiarity with ERP or billing systems and/or SaaS implementations is preferred 

Education 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • Instructional Design certification is a plus 

Additional Info

  • Membership in learning or professional organizations (e.g., ATD) is a bonus
