Western Governors University is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer (Senior MLOps Engineer) to join our team onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role focuses on supporting and optimizing our Databricks-based MLOps platform, “Marvin,” which enables scalable, reliable, and efficient deployment of machine learning models with embedded best practices.

As a Senior MLOps Engineer, you’ll assist data scientists in migrating models to production, ensuring smooth transitions while minimizing disruptions for the broader team. This role requires a strong problem-solver with Databricks expertise who thrives on collaboration and delivering user-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert support for Marvin, addressing platform issues and guiding users.
Facilitate model migrations to production while ensuring adherence to best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve Databricks and platform-related issues.
Maintain and optimize platform performance, handling bug fixes and backlog management.
Conduct training to upskill data scientists on platform use.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill project needs.
Contribute technical expertise to platform updates and feature enhancements.
Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6+ years of experience in Databricks and/or machine learning operations.
