The Senior Marketing Strategist will play a pivotal role in advancing Purdue University's brand as a member of the award-winning Purdue Brand Studio team, Purdue's in-house brand agency, through innovative storytelling, strategic marketing solutions, and activations that resonate with key audiences. This role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy while working closely with the brand team to ensure alignment across all initiatives. This position focuses on enhancing brand perception, supporting university-wide strategic initiatives, and driving engagement with our target audiences. The role demands a collaborative spirit, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for discovering new opportunities to elevate Purdue's brand.
The Senior Marketing Strategist will serve as lead for a cross-functional team to execute projects focused on advancing Purdue University’s national and global reputation. This position will collaborate with central marketing leadership peers, external strategic partners, and marketing agencies, as well as marketing leaders across the campus and portfolio, to inspire and ensure the production of stellar, on-brand, and in-character, customer-centric, insight-informed marketing.
This is a hybrid (remote/on-campus) position. You must live within driving distance to the West Lafayette campus.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of experience in marketing campaign creation, management, and measurement toward set KPIs.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Skills Needed:
- A strong passion and discipline for great brand-building and strategic marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement research-based, strategic, and integrated marketing plans.
- Demonstrated high levels of creativity, curiosity, learning agility, effort, and a desire to improve.

- Ability to inspire a shared vision and influence across all levels and functions of an organization.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills; ability to prioritize work.

Nice to Have:
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit brand marketing
- Familiarity with brand activations, experiential marketing, or large-scale campaign execution
