Senior Product Manager, Experience Full Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Product Manager to join our Product Management team. This role will be focused on enhancing our flagship product, Discovery Education’s Experience, as part of our K-12 business unit.

 As the Senior Product Manager for Experience, you will be responsible for leading the development of innovative digital curriculum resources and digital tools that engage students and empower educators. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including curriculum specialists, instructional designers, developers, and QA testers, to ensure that the products meet user needs and are of high quality.

 You will be expected to conduct market research and user testing to identify user needs and inform product decisions. You will also develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with company goals and user needs. You will define product requirements through user stories and prioritize them based on business value and user impact. You will work closely with the development team to ensure product features are delivered on-time and within budget.

 In addition to leading the development of the Experience product, you will also be responsible for monitoring product performance and user feedback. You will use data to inform product improvements and new feature development. You will work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure that the products are effectively promoted and sold to target audiences.
 
In This Role You Will:
• Inform, own and drive the Experience product roadmap
• Apply a strong understanding of curriculum and engagement tools relevant to students in the different grade bands within K-12
• Partner closely with other product managers who support aspects of the Experience product to ensure cohesive alignment of product features
• Understand and represent the needs of educators, admins, and students, building them directly into priorities – through collaboration with user research, product marketing, data teams, and internal stakeholders
• Get in the weeds to understand our existing product structures and find areas to increase efficacies and improvements that will create more scalability and flexibility of the products
• Build and leverage solid working relationships with business and product stakeholders to facilitate successful product iteration and feature implementation
• Clearly articulate and prioritizes detailed requirements and user stories for engineering and design teams
• Manages tradeoffs to balance user needs and business needs
• Collaborate with other product teams and connects dots across workstreams to ensure a seamless user experience across all areas of the product
• Define key results (KPIs) and gathers reporting to measure and communicate success
• Monitor product KPIs and ensures success metrics are being met, identifies opportunities for testing and product enhancements based on results
• Maintains a prioritized product backlog based on defined business value, aligning with Product Strategy and resource capacity
• Provide project management leadership during implementation to coordinate release schedules, communicate status, resolve issues, align resources, and meet quality standards

• You have excellent communication skills.
• You are always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations.
• You have a demonstrated ability to understand, accept and engage with people of diverse backgrounds.
• You have a sense of humor because we all need to laugh sometimes.
 
 Credentials and Experience:

• Strong preference that you have experience working on a software product that was built or adapted to use in K12 environments
• You have experience driving 0->1 product development, bringing new products & features successfully to market
• You have experience with analyzing data and customer feedback to draw conclusions and create narratives.
• Legal right to work in the United States
