About You
You are an experienced Product Manager who loves growing and monetizing businesses. Chess.com is powered by a freemium subscription business model, and you’ll bring your expertise in conversion rate optimization (CRO) to encourage our free users to try and buy our paid subscription. You have a refined feel for high-quality web and mobile user experiences. And you thrive in roles where you’ll balance business needs, customer experience, and technical requirements. This role reports to our SVP of Monetization.
What You'll Do
- Create and manage the roadmap and design of our free-to-paid user flow (upsell modals, pricing pages, etc.)
- Optimize our subscription conversation rate by determining:
- How, where, and when we promote our Premium product on our free tier
- The ideal commerce flow to drive our users to transact
- Relentlessly drive outcomes and learnings through high-velocity A/B testing
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional counterparts in Monetization and Core Product
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Growth and CRO
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years experience in product management
- Strong monetization experience with a scaled product (>1M DAUs)
- Refined feel of digital consumer design and UX
- Understanding of consumer subscription business models and customer journeys
- Previous experience running A/B experiments and iterating through them
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to compile reports, interpret data, and draw actionable insights
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
