About You
You have deep experience using technology to protect online communities and platforms from abuse. You care about the user experience and finding the balance between enabling users and protecting them. You have a strong technical background which allows you to understand the solutions, vendors, technologies, and best practices for scoping and managing projects. You love to look at the data to measure effectiveness, while also caring about the user experience. You are eager to help protect the chess community because you love chess and want to share your passion with the world.

What you'll do
  • Champion the voice of the player in everything we do, making sure their needs are at the heart of every decision.
  • Work with our amazing Security and Engineering teams to plan, execute, and measure impact of projects that protect our online community during registration, login, purchasing, and interaction.
  • Work with other product managers who do onboarding, payments, and community to plan integrations of solutions to protect and enable our members.
  • Defend the Chess.com community from bots, spammers, malicious actors, trolls, and disruptors who work to disrupt the community.
  • Write clear and simple specs that make it easy for design and engineering teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Be a bridge and a translator between creative ideas and technical realities, helping teams stay aligned and focused.

Preferred Skills
  • 5+ years in engineering and/or product management
  • 2+ years in trust and safety, security, and/or online community protection
  • Current knowledge of the trust and safety landscape, vendors, and best practices
  • Understanding of how to deliver metric-driven results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for and understanding of chess
  • Lifelong learner
