How can you make an impact?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to
join our Learning Tools teams that is a key part of the McGraw Hill’s digital
learning platform. This role will involve designing and implementing complex
software solutions, leading technical projects, and mentoring junior team
members. The services you help develop will provide content used across K-12,
Higher Ed, Professional and International segments. Millions of students rely on
the content and services every day to achieve their educational goals, which is
even more critical in today’s world of hybrid and remote learning.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
 
What can you expect from the position?
· Lead technical projects and contribute to architectural decisions
· Design and develop scalable, efficient, and maintainable software solutions
· Contribute to technical documentation and support the testing process
· Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define
requirements
· Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
· Promote engineering best practices within your team to ensure quality,
stability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability of your software
· Be a champion of the customer’s voice and ensure our products are built
with customer empathy at the forefront
 
What can you bring to the role?
· Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
· 6+ Years of software development experience.
· 6+ Years of experience in product or enterprise software development.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Strong understanding of software design patterns and architectural
principles.
· Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
· Proven technical abilities in the area of software development, testing,
monitoring, performance tuning and deployment pipelines.
· Strong hands-on experience on the full software stack including Frontend,
Backend / API, Databases and Infrastructure.
· Passion for engineering best practices.
· Focus on application quality and testing practices like unit, integration and
e2e testing, code coverage analysis and automated software inspection.
· Strong sense of customer empathy and a commitment to delighting
customers.
· Ability to work across functional and domain boundaries to deliver
software on time and with quality.

The pay range for this position is between $124,350 - $135,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
