Technical Product Manager (US) Full Description

We are looking for a skilled Technical Product Manager to help us design and develop educational experiences that our customers love.
 You'll work closely with our Product Management and Engineering teams to streamline onboarding and interoperability, optimize the educator experience, and help improve student learning and engagement across the suite of Discovery Education products.

 In This Role You Will:
 • Develop a deep understanding of the Discovery Education product line and the markets they could serve
 • Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, UX, Curriculum, Sales, and Marketing teams to identify and design new features and functionality that benefit students and teachers
 • Define and analyze key metrics to inform decision-making and measure success
 • Communicate data, insights, and business requirements clearly, distilling complexity down to its essence
 • Set product goals and develop a product roadmap to achieve them
 • Understand and articulate complex trade-offs, align on scope, and mitigate risks as needed
 • Maintain prioritized backlog for a given feature
 • Understand and advocate for the customer’s needs. Drive customer research where needed
 • Support Sales & Marketing with customer-facing messaging

 Accountabilities and Performance Measures
 • Delivery of features and functionality
 • Analysis and Growth in key metrics relative to a given feature area
 • Roadmap and prioritized backlog for a given feature area
 
 Organizational Alignment
 • Reports to Principal Product Manager
 • Works closely with Product Managers, Engineering, UX, Curriculum, Sales & Marketing
 
 Core Competencies for Success:
 • Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems
 • Excellent user-centric design and product sense
 • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, to “tell the story” clearly and drive results
 • Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
 • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
 • Organized, focused and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
 
Credentials & Experience:
 • 3+ years of Product Management or Business Analysis experience building web products working in an agile environment
 • Experience working with customers to clarify use cases and requirements
 • Experience with interoperability standards is a plus
 • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL is a plus
 • Experience with A/B testing is a plus
 • EdTech experience not required
 • Legal right to work in the United States
 
This role is designed to be in our Charlotte, NC Headquarters on hybrid schedules or worked remotely for candidates not within driving distance.
