Description
We are seeking a skilled Training Development Manager to lead a team in designing and delivering high-quality web-based and classroom training programs for our various customers. This role involves managing instructional designers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and trainers to develop engaging, compliant, and effective training solutions that enhance the knowledge and performance of professionals working in our customers’ environments/operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, e-learning technologies, and aviation-related training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of instructional designers, e-learning developers, and trainers in creating ATC training programs and other key programs within our Civil Business Area.
- Oversee the development of both web-based and instructor-led training (ILT) courses tailored to air traffic control operations.
- Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure training content aligns with USG and other customers’ regulations and industry standards.
- Implement instructional design best practices, including ADDIE and adult learning theories, to develop engaging learning experiences.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery, tracking, and reporting.
- Evaluate and improve training effectiveness through assessments, simulations, and performance data analysis.
- Stay updated on technological advancements in e-learning, simulation-based training.
- Ensure compliance with federal aviation training regulations and organizational policies along with policies of our other USG and commercial customers.
- Manage training budgets, resources, and vendor relationships for instructional materials and technology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Aviation, or a related field and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience including 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- Ability to secure an FAA Public Trust Clearance
- US citizenship required
- Proven experience managing training development teams, preferably in aviation or ATC training.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and e-learning technologies.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including SMEs and regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Aviation Management, or Education.
- Experience in simulation-based training development.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and ATC operational procedures.
- Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) qualification preferred.

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
