PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Training and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs to enhance employee skills and organizational performance. This role works closely with management and subject matter experts to identify training needs, develop curriculum, and evaluate program effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering growth and a strong background in instructional design and adult learning principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Delivery
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and e-learning modules.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify skill gaps and align learning initiatives with business goals.
- Create instructional materials, including presentations, job aids, and training manuals, tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions to employees at all levels.
- Serve as the program representative for the Registered Apprenticeship Program
Needs Assessment and Strategy
- Conduct training needs analyses through surveys, interviews, and performance metrics.
- Develop a comprehensive learning strategy to address current and future workforce development needs.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies in learning and development.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, assessments, and performance data.
- Provide recommendations for program adjustments and implement improvements as needed.
- Maintain training records and provide regular reports on participation, progress, and outcomes.
Technology and Tools Management
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploads, tracking, and reporting.
- Leverage innovative tools and platforms to enhance learning delivery and engagement.
Employee Development and Support
- Act as a coach and mentor to employees to support their career development goals.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in training, learning and development, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., ADP, Cornerstone, or similar platforms).
- Experience with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar software).
- Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to analyze data to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Certification in Training or Learning and Development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) is a plus.
